CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO INTRODUCES MOUNTAINEER SKY RIDE SUMMER SERIES

-- Summer Mixer Series Features Music and Food for Young Adults --

June 3, 2009Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is inviting the region’s adventurous adults to check out the hottest new venue to mix and mingle high above the Zoo! The summer Mountaineer Sky Ride Mixer Series presents a unique opportunity to ride the Sky Ride, watch the sun set, savor a cocktail and light meal while listening to musical accompaniments to set the mood!

Tickets are $25 per couple and $12.50 per person and can be purchased at the entrance to the Mountaineer Sky Ride. Ticket includes one cocktail per person, a light meal by Wildthings Catering and entertainment. A cash bar and additional snack items will also be available for purchase.

The summer Mixer Series will feature a variety of entertainment themes including jazz, salsa, classical, country and big band. Mountaineer Mixers will be held on Thursdays; June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 6, August 27 and September l0, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The first evening of the series is set for Thursday, June 11 with the acoustic sounds of “Negative 2” as the featured music for the evening. Mixer attendees will also be interacting with a variety of live animal ambassadors from the Zoo’s ZOOM program. The menu of appetizers for the evening will be mini pepper encrusted sliders with sweet potato fries, with beer and ale from Bristol Brewery.

The Mountaineer Sky Ride has also increased its daily operating hours through Labor Day. Zoo guests can now glide to the summit of the Sky Ride Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6:00 pm, and Friday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All hours are weather permitting. Guests can also ride the Mountaineer Sky Ride even if they choose not to visit the Zoo!
