HELP IS JUST A TEXT MESSAGE AWAY FOR THE CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO
-- New Text to Give program makes helping your favorite animals easier. --
September 15, 2010 – The more than 700 animals at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo ring up quite a grocery bill every year – a total of $1.4 million annually in food and care costs. Because the Zoo doesn’t receive any local or regional tax support to operate, donations are our lifeline. We rely solely on donations, membership dues, admissions, and grants for funding, so every penny counts.
The new Text to Give program now makes it affordable and easier to support the Zoo’s efforts. For example, one $10 Text to Give donation covers the cost of:
- 5 cans of paint for the painting elephants and orangutans, or
- alfalfa for three giraffes, or
- 1,000 crickets for the reptiles and amphibians
Do you love animals? Want to help out? Simply text ‘CMZGive10’ to 20222 to automatically contribute $10 via your cell phone. Here’s how it works: A one-time donation of $10 will be added to your cell phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance (messaging and data rates may apply), and given to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Annual Fund. Your donation will appear as Mobile Giving Foundation on your wireless statement, and all donations are tax deductible.
