9,000 POUNDS OF ORANGUTAN-FRIENDLY CANDY ON ITS WAY TO
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO FOR THE REGION’S LARGEST HALLOWEEN PARTY

-- Boo at the Zoo open two weekends, starting Friday, October 21 --

October 10, 2011 - It’ll be all treats and no tricks (well, maybe just a few!) for little ghosts and goblins at this year’s Boo at the Zoo, the region’s largest Halloween party. Boo at the Zoo is for families wanting a safe, not-too-scary adventure the weekends of October 21 – 23 and 28 – 30, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each night, with last admission sold at 7:30 p.m. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will close to the public at 4:00 p.m. those nights to prepare.

The popular haunted house and ghostly graveyard both return this year, and be sure to check out the “Things That Go Bump in the Night” animal show at the Lodge at Moose Lake nightly at 6:15 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Littler spooks will enjoy the creepy bat cave, pumpkin path and Boo Carousel. Select animal exhibits will also be open, including giraffes, The Loft, Monkey Pavilion, Lion's Lair and Aquatics.

Orangutan-Friendly Candy

9,000 pounds of orangutan-friendly candy will be handed out at dozens of Spooky Treat Stations throughout Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The zoo’s candy supply is purchased from companies belonging to the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), and committed to the use of sustainable palm oil and conservation efforts in Indonesia and Malaysia.
