--Two weekends of spooktacular activities planned and, new this year, Boo on HALLOWEEN NIGHT!--

October 15, 2013, Colorado Springs, CO –

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will come alive when thousands of little princesses and pirates attend Boo at the Zoo, the region’s largest family-friendly Halloween party. Boo is a fun way to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe and unique environment.

Boo at the Zoo is October 18 – 20, 25 – 27 and, new this year, Halloween night, October 31. Boo hours are from 4 – 8:30 p.m. all seven nights, with the last admission sold at 7:30 p.m. (Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will close to the public at 3 p.m. those nights to prepare.)

Frightfully fun attractions include a Lighted Pumpkin Patch, Haunted Fun House, Ghoulish Graveyard, Boo Carousel and Pirate Cove. Little goblins will want to check out the animal/keeper stage show, “So You Want to be a Zoo Keeper?” at the Lodge at Moose Lake nightly at 5:25 p.m., 6:25 p.m. and 7:25 p.m.

A visit to the Zoo wouldn’t be complete without animals! Special keeper talks and animal demos will be offered nightly at 5 and 7 p.m., and select animal exhibits will be open, including giraffes, The Loft, Monkey Pavilion, Encounter Africa and Aquatics.

Helping Wild Orangutans with RSPO-Member Manufactured Candy

More than 9,000 pounds of orangutan-friendly candy will be handed out at Spooky Treat Stations throughout Cheyenne Mountain Zoo during Boo at the Zoo. The Zoo’s candy supply is purchased from companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which is committed to the use of sustainable palm oil and the protection of orangutan habitat in Indonesia and Malaysia.
