-- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo warms your wallet with $2 off regular-priced event admission --

December 4, 2013, Colorado Springs, CO – The weather forecast is looking a bit frightful, so Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is offering a delightful discount for the opening weekend of Electric Safari. Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (last admission sold at 7:30 p.m.), a $2 discount will be taken off regular-priced admission for guests who mention the word “chilly” at the Zoo’s admission booth.

There will be lots of opportunities to stay warm this weekend at Electric Safari, too. Lighted fires throughout the Zoo, multiple indoor animal exhibits and the Grizzly Grill will all offer warm retreats from the cold.

For 23 years, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has been celebrating the spirit of the holidays with Electric Safari. This year is no exception - the event boasts over one million lights, over 40 lighted animal sculptures, holiday music and special Christmas crafts for the kids. Plus Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking holiday wishes nightly through December 23.

Guests also get to see special animal keeper talks all 22 event nights, and select animal exhibits will be open, including the giraffe barn, Encounter Africa, Aquatics, Rocky Mountain Wild (except grizzlies), Asian Highlands, Monkey Pavilion, Scutes Family Gallery and The Loft.
