Beastly Birthday Party:
For a birthday party like no other, celebrate at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!  We’ve taken care of all the details - all you have to do is send the invitations and show up!  We’ve put together some of the best Beastly Birthday Parties we could think of - the Primate Party Package, the Pachyderm Party Package, the Giraffe Party Package, and the *Pony Party Package:

Each package will include:
· Admission to the Zoo
· Party favor bags filled with Zoo goodies
· A Birthday present for the Birthday child
· A visit with one of our Awesome Animal Ambassadors
· Safari Cabin rental for duration of party

The Primate Party Package includes: A visit to Monkey Pavilion for a Primate enrichment and a Primate talk with either a Zoo keeper or an Education staff member!

The Pachyderm Party Package includes: a visit with one of our precocious Pachyderms, a Pachyderm enrichment or demo and a Pachyderm talk with a Zoo keeper!

The Giraffe Party Package includes: a visit with our world-famous Giraffe herd in the NEW African Rift Valley exhibit, Giraffe cracker feeding, Giraffe biofact exploration and a Giraffe talk with either a Zoo keeper or an Education staff member!

The Pony Party Package includes: The Pony Party Package includes* Two ponies picked out just for you with half an hour of pony riding and a western theme to boot! The birthday boy or girls gets a cowboy hat and all the little cowpokes receive special badges and themed gift bags. Your group receives one-on-one attention from a Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Pony wrangler and of course, the ponies. You can also enjoy the great photo opportunity for all the little cowpokes!
*Additional fees apply for the Pony Party Package: $25 non-refundable animal deposit upon pony reservation. $90 for members; $100 for non-members. A 100% refund is given if pony rides are unavailable due to inclement weather and CMZ cancels. Full payment is due seven days prior to party date. Cancellations three days before party are eligible for a 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit.

When: Parties are available on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays at 10:30 am -12:30 pm or 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Cost:   Members: $225.25 for 12 children & 2 adults; additional children $10, add’l adults $3
            Non-members: $250.25 for 12 children & 2 adults; additional children $14, additional adults regular admission rate of $14
           *Additional fees apply to the Pony Party Package.
Extras:Cake, ice cream and punch can be added for $50,  Large 1 topping pizzas can be added for $10 each (includes drinks)

How do I sign-up? Reserve your date with a non-refundable $25 deposit at least two weeks in advance.
Final payment is due seven days before your party.

More fun party details!
Arrival and pick up: Your leader will meet your group at the admissions gate at the time your party starts.  All birthday participants need to be on time.  If we wait for latecomers, it takes time away from your party.  Please ask your guests to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the party start time to assure that your party begins promptly.  Name tags will be provided for your group.

What to wear:  Party guests should dress comfortably and anticipate spending time outdoors as well as indoors.  A waterproof jacket and appropriate walking shoes are recommended.  Please dress for the weather (if you live here, you know what we mean!).

Gift and favor bags:  Included in your party package will be a small gift for the birthday child. For each child attending the party, above the age of three, we’ll provide a party favor bag, which includes a variety of safari-theme toys in a brightly colored gift bag.  Some of the contents are inappropriate for children under three, due to choking hazard and small pieces; therefore, we will have an alternate party favor for children under 3.

Health and safety:  This is a foremost consideration for all Zoo programs.  Participants will be given program rules upon arrival and are expected to follow these rules during their entire stay at the Zoo.  For everyone’s safety, we reserve the right to end the program for an individual or group if the rules are not respected.  Please fill out the enclosed waiver forms and return them to the Zoo on the day of your program.  IF WE DO NOT HAVE THE WAIVER FORM BY THE PROGRAM START TIME, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TURN AWAY THAT PARTICIPANT.  Zoo personnel are prepared for quick response should an emergency arise. The program leaders are First-Aid and CPR-certified and carry a First-Aid kit.  Additional first-aid kits are located throughout the Zoo.

Animal presentations:  Your leader will bring out one educational animal for everyone to see.  Although we cannot prearrange which animal will be used in a program, we can usually accommodate a request for “something fuzzy” or “something scaly”.  Some animals used in this program are:  California king snake, red-footed tortoise, leopard gecko, ferret and others.  Depending on the age of the birthday group, some animals cannot be touched.

Payment/cancellation policy:  Birthday Parties must be arranged at least two weeks before the party date.  A $25 non-refundable deposit is expected at that time and final payment along with final numbers of guests are due SEVEN DAYS prior to your program.  Additional deposit fees apply for the Pony Party Package. It is your responsibility to have the final payment to us by this date.  We reserve the right to cancel your program if there has been no communication on your part 3 days before the program is scheduled to take place.  If you decide to cancel the Birthday Party, all payments received by that date are non-refundable. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will only cancel a Birthday Party if Colorado Springs’ School District 11, 12 or 2 have canceled classes due to inclement weather that day.  In this case, we can either reschedule or, if you desire, process a full refund.

Planning:  Pick the day and time that’s best for you!  The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is open every day of the year so the possibilities are endless!  Hours of operation are: Memorial Day through Labor Day 9am-6pm and Labor Day through Memorial Day 9am-5pm.  We suggest you plan your Birthday visit to the Zoo around an Animal Adventure.  A current list of Animal Adventures will be sent in your Birthday Party package.  You are welcome to bring your own Birthday cake and food, but please, no balloons!  Picnic tables are located throughout the Zoo so you’ll be sure to find the perfect spot to relax.  Food is also available at the Thundergod Gift Shop and Colobus Café (hours are seasonal; please call ahead to check availability).

Please allow 2 weeks for processing.  Once you have received your package, no date confirmation is necessary – come whenever you’d like!   Birthday party packages are valid for 6 months.
