ZOO CAMPS
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo camps are
now in their tenth year!
Filled with adventures that entertain
and educate, Zoo Camps offer
kids that extra-special experience
with animals and the outdoors.
SUMMER
CAMP 2008
NEXT TO THIS, EVERY OTHER SUMMER CAMP
IS TAME. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share
the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways.
Campers meet animals up close, explore the outdoors, interact with zookeepers,
make treats for the animals, design cool crafts, play games and more! Camps
are grouped into various age ranges for children 5 through 15, offering
15 session selections in a variety of exciting themes.
Cost:
Regular Sessions: $161.25
for members, $171.25 for non-members for the first session unless otherwise
noted.
Included is a t-shirt, group photo
and a special summer camp cup.
$.25 daily from each camp registration
is designated to Quarters for Conservation,
a new program that will greatly expand Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's conservation
efforts in our region and around the globe.
Special Session: Prices vary, please refer to the Special
Camp Session listings for exact prices.

than one regular session and receive a 10% discount on additional regular
sessions (does not include special sessions).

Zoofari (Ages 5-8)
Younger campers discover the wonders of Zoo animals in “Zoofari.”
This is a great first time experience!
Sessions 2 and 15
Wild World (Ages 5-7)
Take a trip around the world while right here at the Zoo. Learn about
wild animals and their habitats!
Sessions 4, 12
Rocky Mountain Adventures (ages 6-10)
Journey into our brand new exhibit, Rocky Mountain Wild. Discover some
amazing animals that may live in your own backyard.
Sessions 2, 12 and 15
Week of the Frog (and Reptiles, too) (ages 7-10)
Join us in celebrating “Year of the Frog.” Learn the differences between
amphibians and reptiles and how important they are to our world.
Sessions 4 and 9
Playful Primates (ages 7-11)
Let’s monkey around the Zoo! We’ll go bananas discovering what makes
these special animals unique.
Sessions 1, 7, and 14 (offered as Camp Sampler day camps only).
Artistic Instincts (ages 8-12)
Young Picassos can explore their creative sides using mediums such
as painting, sculpture, theatre and music. An additional $20 fee is charged
for supplies.
Session 9
Junior Zookeeper (ages 10-15)
Get an inside look at the wonderful world of zoos. Discover how zoos
take care of exotic animals and how they help save endangered species from
extinction.

CAMPS
WITH AN OVERNIGHT
Sessions run Monday-Wednesday from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The optional overnight starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday and
finishes on Friday at noon. Those who do not want to attend the overnight
may still attend the half-day program on Friday.
Rocky Mountain Adventures (ages 6-10)
Journey into our brand new exhibit, Rocky Mountain Wild. Discover some
amazing animals that may live in your own backyard.

Fabulous Felines (ages 7-11)
Here kitty, kitty, kitty lovers! Campers will pounce around the Zoo
exploring our collection of cats.

Zoovivor (ages 8-12)
Explore the ways animals survive. Find out which animals outrun, outfly
or outdo all the others and see how your child measures up!

take care of exotic animals and how they help save endangered species from
extinction.

Animal Wrappers (ages 4-6)
Animals can be covered in many different things – scales, fur or feathers.
Your youngster will explore why some animals are fuzzy and soft while others
are hard and scaly.

Camp Sampler
Not sure if your child will like a camp theme? Then sample some of
these single day programs from our most popular camp themes in session
1 or7! Sign up for one or two or attend the full four days. Member cost
is $35.25* for each day or $121* for all four days; non-member cost is
$45.25 per day or $141 for four days.

Session 8 - Nocturnal Night Club (ages 7-11)
Is spending just one night at the Zoo not enough? In this special program,
campers have the opportunity to spend two nights in a row at America’s
only mountain zoo! Explore the habits of some of our favorite nocturnal
animals and learn to identify constellations. This session
runs from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night and includes dinner and breakfast.
Cost is $75.50 for members and $85.50 for non-members.
Session 10 - Colorado Explorers (ages 10-12)
We’ve teamed up with the Catamount
Institute to provide this special one day camp! We’ll travel to Catamount’s
mountain campus in Woodland Park and spend the day hiking and exploring
the outdoors. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $50.25 for
members and $60.25 for non-members.

OPTIONAL
SACK LUNCH FOR CAMP
A daily option sack lunch with sandwich, chips, fruit desert and beverage.
When registering for camp, you must add these sack lunches into your
options separately for your child to receive this during camp - it is not
already included in any camp price.
Cost is $5.75 per day.
How do I sign my child up? On-line registration for the Optional
Sack Lunch program is available when filling our your registration information
and will be calculated into the total in your shopping cart, or you can
choose it on the mail-in registration form.
