You choose.
Volunteer during the week as a Tour Educator or on the weekends as an Interpretive Educator or a combination of both - it's up to you.
Tour Educators
Lead onsite Zoo tours for school kids and present classroom "safaris" in schools. You'll get to know the Zoo inside out.
Interpretive Educators
Instill an understanding and appreciation of animals using bio-facts (animal artifacts) at the Zoo. Other opportunities for involvement are also available, including Zoopeteers (puppet program), Zoo on the Move, animal enrichment and special events.
Don't forget: The fun perks of being a docent are great field trips, parties and the opportunity to meet some great people!
