Wheelchairs

Standard wheelchairs are available for rent at the Stroller Hut just past the Thundergod Gift Shop, after entering at the Admission gate. Check inside the Thundergod Gift Shop when closed and during the winter months. We do not have personal motorized vehicles for rent.
Cost: $12.00, no deposit required.

Stroller and Wagon Rentals

Strollers and wagons are available for rent at the Stroller Hut just past Thundergod Gift Shop, after entering at the Admission gate - during the summer season. Check inside the Thundergod Gift Shop when closed and during the winter months.
Cost: $10.00 for strollers or wagons.

We welcome Guests with disabilities that choose to bring their trained service animal into the Zoo. Individuals visiting the Zoo with the assistance of a service dog may only tour certain areas of the Zoo with their dogs. The Zoo can care for the dogs and provide staff guidance if you want to visit restricted areas. You may print or read the pdf of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Service Dog Policy. (Pets are not allowed inside the Zoo).

The Zoo's elevation rises from 6,800 feet at the front admission gate to nearly 7,000 feet above sea level at the Zoo’s highest points of Asian Highlands and Rocky Mountain Wild. With elevations of this magnitude, it’s important for guests to keep hydrated and not overdo it, especially if you are visiting from locales much lower in altitude than Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Take your time while you experience an unforgettable adventure highlighted by the breathtaking mountain scenery of America's mountain zoo!

Guests can also use the Shuttle to get around Zoo grounds. Please find shuttle details under the Zoo Transportation expandable of this page.

Zoo Shuttle

Need help getting around the Zoo? Watch for stops marked with signs around the Zoo for the shuttle. Cost is $2, includes an all day hand stamp. Purchase shuttle rides at Zoo admissions or with the shuttle driver. The shuttle is available weather permitting and is wheelchair and stroller friendly.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers free parking for guests of America’s mountain Zoo. The Zoo recently updated the parking lot to add additional spaces. The lot can now accommodate approximately 700 vehicles.

Reserved parking spaces are also available for disabled guests, adjacent to the Zoo’s front admission gates.

Over-sized vehicles, vehicles with trailers and school buses are encouraged to use the southern section of the lot for parking at the Zoo.
