— Media Tour of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s newly renovated Australia Walkabout is tomorrow–

June 10, 2015, Colorado Springs, CO – Join Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for a media tour of Australia! Less than a year after demolition of the old exhibit, Australia’s new habitats for budgies, alligators, wallabies, tree kangaroo and emu are complete. The budgies are chirping, didgeridoo music is playing and the animals are ready to meet the press!

Our official Australia Grand Opening Weekend will take place this Friday – Sunday, June 12 – 14. Special opening weekend events include free Australian-themed face painting, limited-edition CMZoo Australian animal buttons ($1 each), live didgeridoo music on Saturday and an animal meet and greet.

The Zoo continues to improve exhibits to provide better guest experiences and expand animal habitats. The opening of Australia marks the completion of over $24 million in capital improvements at the Zoo in the last 10 years. Join Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in celebrating the new space and all that’s been accomplished with the support of donors, members and our community.
