Habitat: Inhabits arid woodland and scrub with grass, eucalyptus and acacias, particularly across the interior of Australia.

IUCN Status: Near Threatened

Behavior: It is one of Australia's least-known parrots because it is so elusive. However, they are unusual among parrots in engaging in mobbing behavior against predators.

Interesting Fact: Its name was given in honor of Princess Alexandra of Denmark, who later married the Prince of Wales Edward VII and eventually became the Queen of England.
