Little Sprouts – Marvelous Mud

Ages 2-4 years (1 child with 1 adult). Treat yourself to the royal treatment, zoo-style! Enjoy fine, locally-sourced, imaginary cuisine from our mud kitchen; lather up with an exfoliating, organic mud facial; and wallow in the glory of meeting some of our mud-loving animal ambassadors.

Little Sprouts – Pumpkin Parade (Part 1)

Backyard Explorations – Beneficial Bat Class

Thursday, October 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Ages 6+. Open to children and adults. 7-8:30 p.m. Bats are not just creatures that fly around at night eating bugs. They are also amazing pollinators that help plants grow! Bats are one of the most misunderstood species on the planet that are also one of the most amazing and interesting animals too! Join us for a night time adventure through the zoo as we look for active groups of bats and learn about all of their amazing adaptations!

Little Sprouts – Leaping in Leaves

Saturday, November 3 @ 9:15 am - 10:15 am

Ages 2 – 4 years (1 child with 1 adult). Participants will venture up to the nature trail to explore the leaf-covered forest floor. Participants will search for invertebrates preparing for winter under the leafy surface, and create their own leaf pile to jump in.

Animal Care 101 – Reptile Care

Sunday, November 4 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Adults and children ages 7+. Are you thinking about bringing a new scaly member into your family? Do you already have a reptile sharing your home? Reptile Care 101 provides families with information on how to care for these unique pets. This class includes hands-on activities about diets, enclosures, health concerns, and finding the right reptile for you. As well as meeting some of our favorite reptiles up-close!

Animal Care 101 – Small Mammal Care

Sunday, December 9 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Adults and children ages 7+. Have you considered bring a hedgehog or chinchilla into your home? Or maybe you are looking to learn more about hamster or guinea pigs. If so, we offer a hands on and interactive class all about caring for small mammals. We will guide you in setting up habitats, learning about health care, and even guide you in deciding what kind of furry friend is best for your household. And, of course, there will be hands-on opportunities with some of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s cutest small mammals!
