Characteristics: Koi are ornamental domesticated varieties of the common carp. More than a 100 color varieties have been bred from this single species of fish. Common colors include white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream. Can grow, on average, up to 3.28 feet, with females being larger than males.
Behavior: Energetic schooling fish that spend the majority of their time in search for food.
Reproduction: Reproduce through spawning in which a female lays a vast number of eggs and one or more males fertilize them.
