Characteristics: Native to Oregon and California, this plant can grow 2 feet tall and just as wide but has been known to spread even wider through roots and nodes. The leaves are 3 inches across, deep green, and tend to be roundish or kidney shaped. In spring 2 inch flowers, resembling little hollyhocks, emerge in various shades of pink along the leafy stalks. Without moderate moisture plants will go dormant in summer and reemerge with rain in the fall.
