The rosy boa is one of the smaller members of the boa family. Like many boas, they are nocturnal. This species may live up to 15 years. It is found in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. The species' habitats are diverse and include desert, and scrub, brush land, shady plains and rocky slopes. Rosy boas are viviparous, which means they give birth to live young.
