Ranked as one of the biggest summer attendance day at the Zoo, Teddy Bear Day draws upwards of 10,000 people. Sponsorship enables local children – many of them economically disadvantaged – to receive reduced admission to the Zoo when accompanied by their teddy bear (or other favorite stuffed animal). In addition to being treated to a host of activities, such as face painting, games and parades with costumed characters, kids can submit their teddy bears for “checkups” and minor repairs by medical professionals and volunteers. Advertising and publicity includes print and radio with a media value of $10,000.
