Whether you are visiting the Zoo or want the Zoo to come to you, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
can provide self-guided educational materials that will enhance your curriculum. Along with inspiring
students to explore science and nature, our programs can be used with a variety of curricula including
arts, math, language, geography, history and more. All tours and programs are aligned with the Colorado
Model Content Standards, so you can be assured that your visit to the Zoo is a valuable use of instructional time.

CAREER DAY
Who?    Career day is for students in ages 13-18.  Students will be grouped according to age with appropriate activities.
What?   Come explore fascinating career opportunities for animal lovers.  Participants will learn about changing exhibitory and animal management ideology, learn about different jobs in zoology, see behind the scenes at the Zoo veterinary clinic, talk to keepers and more.
Why?    To learn about zoology careers and have fun.
Cost?    $40 members; $50 non-members
When?  Friday, Mar. 2, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

ZOO FIELD TRIPS
Immerse your students in an unforgettable educational adventure at America's only mountain zoo! Combine educational activities with fun and a sense of discovery in an ideal environment for your students to learn more about the world they live in. Students will encounter 146 different species of animals - more than 50 of which are endangered.
WHO:    Elementary school classes

NON-GUIDED TOURS: $4.50 per student

GUIDED - Docent led school tours
$4.50 per student grades 3-12.

LUNCH: (Optional) $4.25 per student plus tax.
Includes sandwich (Ham or turkey with cheese or Peanut butter & jelly), chips, cookie and beverage.

DOCENT-LED SCHOOL CLASSROOM SAFARIS AND TOURS
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Docent Auxiliary offers educational programs that address Colorado Content Science and Geography Standards.We've made the connection for you! Various types of tours are available to suit your needs any time of the year! Let our expert Docents give your class grades 3 and up an in-depth Zoo tour!
K-2 classroom Zoopeteer programs are also available.

Safari and tour programs are now being scheduled.
Cost: $4.50 each per student, teacher or adult, with one adult free with each group.
