Adopt an Animal

No, You Can't Take Them Home.

With more than 600 animals, the cost to feed and care for our animals exceeds $650,000 annually. By adopting an animal, you'll help it to receive the outstanding care Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is committed to providing. Each adoption gift directly supports the care of the animal of your choice, and with it comes a variety of special benefits only adoptive parents can enjoy.

Looking for the perfect unique gift idea? Adopt Special Gift Packages are great for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, anniversaries or any holiday!

Note: Sorry, no ownership rights are granted by this adoption. All adoptions are valid for one year. Like all living creatures, Zoo animals may become ill, pass away or move to another zoo temporarily or permanently. If the animal leaves for any reason, your adoption can be transferred to another animal for the remainder of your adoption year.

Parent Benefits

Learn all about the benefits of Zoo animal adoption.

In addition to making a big difference in the lives of our Zoo animals, as an adoptive parent, your name will be displayed on an Adopt-an-Animal parent board for one year. These boards can be found in these locations:

  • Giraffe Building
  • Monkey Pavilion
  • Elephant Building
  • Aquatics
  • Primate World
  • Bird & Reptile House

To find out where your name is posted please contact Valerie at 719.633.9925, ext. 115, or e-mail  vmaltese@cmzoo.org.

Note: The parent boards are updated quarterly, so the dates that the name appears on the board may not coincide with the actual dates of the adoption.
