Advanced member tickets are required for Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent and Family Plus member entry. Tickets are subject to selling out! Because of this, during busier times of the year (i.e. summer, holidays, weekends, etc.) you will need to plan at least 5 days, if not a week, in advance to visit the Zoo with your membership at the date and time you desire.

Please note that while your membership includes access to complimentary member e-tickets throughout the duration of your membership, ticket availability for your preferred date and time is not guaranteed. All tickets are subject to selling out!

If you do not currently have an active membership and plan to visit within the next 5–7 days, we strongly recommend purchasing general admission tickets for your preferred visit time and then upgrading those tickets to a membership within 3 days of your visit. You can find details in the Upgrade Your Tickets to a Membership section below.

Please keep in mind:

• Memberships are non-refundable after purchase.
• If complimentary member e-tickets are unavailable for your preferred date/time after you purchase a membership, memberships will not be refunded.
• General admission tickets purchased separately are non-refundable and cannot be applied toward the cost of an already active membership.

Upgrade Your Tickets to a Membership

Apply general admission tickets* from your visit to the cost of a new Zoo membership!
We’ll honor your receipt for 3 days after the date of your Zoo visit. You must contact membership before purchasing your membership to apply tickets to your initial membership upgrade. Refunds cannot be given if you choose to purchase a membership before speaking to membership staff.

Upgrading is easy

*Restrictions apply:
• Only one daytime ticket order can be applied per membership.
• Contact the Membership office to upgrade before purchasing admission tickets for a second visit.
• Only daytime tickets covered under the membership level can be applied (i.e. up to two tickets can be applied to an Individual Plus).
• The order number from your original ticket receipt is required for an upgrade.
• Admission ticket upgrades cannot be applied to gift memberships, upgrades between membership levels or membership add-ons (i.e. Third Adults).
• The tickets applied to your membership upgrade must be yours. We cannot apply another family’s visit to a membership for you.
• After-hours event tickets, like Electric Safari and Boo at the Zoo, cannot be applied to a membership.

Is your favorite time to visit the Zoo sold out? Rideshare tickets are always available at cmzoo.org/rideshare, and can be used at any time for daytime admission. (i.e. Members and guests can book rideshare Zoo admission tickets, then arrive at your leisure and show your Uber, Lyft or taxi receipt with your rideshare tickets at admissions.) Of the more than 235 zoos and aquariums accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is one of the few operating without tax support. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo depends on admissions, membership dues, special event attendance and donations for funding. Your membership support is critical to our work! Together, we can provide the care our animals deserve while ensuring your Zoo remains a source of pride for your family and the community.

*Advance tickets are required for daytime admission, Boo at the Zoo, and Electric Safari for Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent, and Family Plus members. Conservator, Patron and Patron Gold members are not required to reserve advance timed-tickets for daytime or Electric Safari Safari admission, but are required to reserve tickets for Boo at the Zoo.

Things to Note Before You Buy

Memberships cannot be refunded (partially or fully), downgraded, pro-rated or extended after purchase.
All named members, including Third Adult add-ons, are required to be at least 18 years of age. A child under the age of 18 cannot be named on a membership.
Member tickets are not valid if they are reserved for a date and time beyond the membership’s expiration date. For example, if tickets are reserved for anytime in December (including Electric Safari) on November 11th and your membership expires November 30th, the member tickets will not be valid in December unless the membership is renewed. Without valid member tickets, you may be charged the appropriate, non-refundable general admission fee(s).
To clarify children who are, or are not, covered on a membership – please call our membership office 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893. Children not living in a household, including daycare, youth groups or group homes are not covered under any membership level.
When gifting a membership, please note that existing members can belong to only one active membership at a time. A membership gifted to an existing member will extend their existing expiration date by one calendar year. More details on Gift Memberships.
If you have recently renewed your membership with no changes, please continue to use your existing membership card as a part of our “Go Green” initiative. If you no longer have a membership card, we’ll send a new one for a $5 fee. In the meantime, you can check in using a valid photo ID and your membership reservations at any admissions window.

Crossing barriers is dangerous, as they are in place to keep both you and our animals safe. Like your friends and family, our animals do not like to be harassed in any way.

We believe we should never take our site’s beauty for granted. Our mountain is something we hope you will enjoy and actively admire. Join us in preserving our amazing site by feeling at home while you are here and leaving our grounds “without a trace.”
