
Outdoor School: Family Habitat Hike – July 2

Age: Families of all ages
Location: Fountain Creek Nature Center
Join us at one of Colorado’s most unique parks, Fountain Creek, as naturalists lead you on a hike through a wide variety of habitats. Known as the “oasis on the plains”, we’ll explore through the park’s unique ecosystem and learn what it takes for a natural space to be considered a “habitat.”
Class topics will include:
- Experiencing nature and the outdoors in an all new way.
- Learning a new skill, craft, or experience.
- Opportunities to take advantage of the Colorado wilderness.
- Inspiring deep connections with nature and a passion for the outdoors.
Classes are open to adults and children, please see ages listed for each class specifically.
When appropriate for ages 5 and up, they must be accompanied by an adult, unless otherwise noted.

Please refer to the individual class listings, as some class costs may vary.
Registration is required, and closes 48 hours before the event.
Location:
Outdoor School classes may occur on Zoo grounds or off-site in other nature-based environments. Therefore, not all programs happen at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Please note the location of the program prior to registration.
EdVenture Refunds, Cancellations or Changes
Refund Policy
A refund request must be received no less than TWO WEEKS prior to the start of the program. If approved, the Zoo will refund the amount of the fee minus a $25 non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given after two weeks prior to the start of the program.
*If you are participating in an extended EdVenture Program (Zoo Crew, Junior Zookeeper, etc.) please send an email to the program specific supervisor to discuss refund options and policies.
We do not issue refunds for parties that do not show for their reservation. If you need to cancel or reschedule your event, please refer to the confirmation email received upon registration. For further inquiry, please email [email protected].
If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.
Program Cancellation
The Zoo reserves the right to cancel a program due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen circumstances in which the Zoo is closed. If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.
