A Wild Summer Experience.

(Kinder – 8th Grade)
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers meet animals up-close, explore the outdoors, interact with keepers, make treats for the animals, design cool crafts and more! The goal of these programs is to instill and foster a lifelong love for nature and animals, as well as introduce or develop lifelong passions for activities that tie youth directly to wildlife and/or wild places. Through live animal presentations, games, Zoo hikes and time with nature, camp mentors will help children provide a link between people and the natural world.

MEMBERS ONLY EARLY BIRD Registration will be open February 2-8, 2026.
General Early Bird registration will be open February 9-13, 2026.
Regular registration pricing begins Feb. 14, 2026 – until sold out.

2026 Summer Camps run June 1 – July 31

– Campers should register for the grade they will enter in the fall.
– Minimum camper age is 5 years old and they should be fully potty trained.

Camp Options:

Classic Camps (Kinder – 3rd Grade) – A wild inquiry based summer experience. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers in Classic Camp meet our Loft animal collection up-close, explore the outdoors, interact with keepers, make treats for the animals, design cool crafts and more!
Camp WILDER (4th & 5th Grade) – An immersive nature based experience. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers in Camp WILDER will meet our Loft animal collection up-close and quest through the Zoo’s 40 acre nature trail, exclusively reserved for campers/teen program participants, to learn about the natural world around them.
Middle School (6th – 8th Grade) – A combination of inquiry & nature based summer experience. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers in Middle School Camp will meet our Loft animal collection up-close, explore our Zoo’s exclusive 40 acre nature trail, interact with keepers, and learn about the natural world around them.

I also understand that memberships are non-refundable after purchase.

We believe we can create a feeling of family by treating each employee, guest, member and donor with the respect they deserve. Treating each other like we would want to be treated is just the right thing to do. There is no room at the Zoo for profanity, harassment or threatening behavior.

Our animals are family and we love and respect them not only for their beauty, but for all the joy they bring so many guests every year. We believe our animals deserve the best homes and care we can provide. Please join us in treating our animals like you would treat your own family members. Crossing barriers is dangerous, as they are in place to keep both you and our animals safe. Like your friends and family, our animals do not like to be harassed in any way.

We believe we should never take our site’s beauty for granted. Our mountain is something we hope you will enjoy and actively admire. Join us in preserving our amazing site by feeling at home while you are here and leaving our grounds “without a trace.”

Summer Camp Pricing (Kinder – 8th Grade)

– Available as full week camps, June – July.
– No overnights available.
– Campers should register for the grade they will enter in the fall.
– If a camp is full, you can email [email protected] or call 719-424-7522 to add your camper to the wait list.
– Registration includes one camp t-shirt, and any take home items. (Extra camp t-shirts available during camp check-out, or check-out upon request.)

Cost of 2026 FULL WEEK CAMPS:

Members – $375.75 per child per week
EARLY BIRD pricing February 9-13:
Members – $375.75 per child per week
Non-members – $400.75 per child per week
Pricing beginning February 14:

Note: 75¢ per day from each camp registration goes to Quarters for Conservation, which expands Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s regional and global conservation efforts.

Friday, June 26, 2026 is International Mud Day

All camp groups in session will participate! International Mud Day is intended to have kids (and adults) all over the world play together in the mud all over the world. It allows kids to connect with nature, connect with each other, experience free/loose/unrestricted play, and get REALLY dirty!

What grade or age level should I register my camper for?

Campers should be registered for the grade they will attending in the fall. Refunds will not be issued for incorrect registrations.

What are the check-in and check-out times for Zoo Camp?

FULL DAY CAMPS: Camps run Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. (check-in at 8:45 a.m.) – 4 p.m. (for Kinder – 8th grade).

What does my camper need to bring with them to Zoo Camp?

Campers should dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Layers are suggested and good. Closed toe walking shoes are essential.

All campers are required to bring the following items with them to Zoo Camp:
– Water bottle
– Morning & afternoon snack
– Lunch (The Zoo DOES NOT provide lunch or snacks)
– Change of clothes

What health forms are required for Zoo Camp, and when do you need them by?

CampDOC healthcare digital forms must be completed at least two weeks prior to attending camp. Refunds will not be issued for lack of healthcare forms.

EdVenture Refunds, Cancellations or Changes

Refund Policy
A refund request must be received no less than TWO WEEKS prior to the start of the program. If approved, the Zoo will refund the amount of the fee minus 25% of the program fee. No refunds will be given after two weeks prior to the start of the program.

*If you are participating in an extended EdVenture Program (Zoo Crew, Junior Zookeeper, etc.) please send an email to the program specific supervisor to discuss refund options and policies.

We do not issue refunds for parties that do not show for their reservation. If you need to cancel or reschedule your event, please refer to the confirmation email received upon registration. For further inquiry, please email [email protected].

If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.

Program Cancellation
The Zoo reserves the right to cancel a program due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen circumstances in which the Zoo is closed. If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.
