In 2026, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will turn 100! From first encounters with giraffe to family traditions passed down through generations, the Zoo has been honored to play a part in the lives of our members, guests, staff and partners in countless ways. As we prepare to celebrate our centennial in 2026, we want to share the unique stories that make Cheyenne Mountain Zoo your Zoo.
You’re Invited!
We’re inviting guests, members and friends of the Zoo to share their Zoo history with us – through photos, written memories, or both.

WAYS TO SUBMIT:
- Submit via this online form (below).
- By phone – call us at 719-424-7700, listen to greeting and leave message after the tone.
• Include your name & number
• Include the line, “I give Cheyenne Mountain Zoo permission to share this recording.”
• You will have up to three minutes to record your story. - On paper – write your story down and mail it to us:

Submission Guidelines
- Limit 3 story entries per person.
- Those under 18 submitting photos must have a parent or legal guardian submit the entry and sign any required model releases.
- Zoo employees, docents, and board members are encouraged to participate.
- Stories and photos must convey our animals and organization in a caring and respectful light.
- Participation does not guarantee usage.
- Please submit your photo(s) with your story as high-resolution .jpgs (limit 3 per submission.)
- Model Release Form: Download Model Photographic Image Releases and Waiver Form PDF
- Submitters must obtain and be able to provide proof of consent from any identifiable guests featured in their photos, using the Model Photographic Image Releases and Waiver Form PDF in the Additional Guidelines below. Submissions without a completed Model Release Form will not be considered.
- Disqualifications: Stories or photos violating Zoo policies, depicting unsafe behavior, lacking required permissions or not adhering to all guidelines will not be considered. Disqualifications will not receive any notification.
- Your submission could be one of the treasures we highlight during our centennial year. Please note, while we hope to honor as many memories as possible, not all stories or photos will be shared.
