Head Veterinarian

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is seeking a Head Veterinarian to oversee the medical care of our Zoo’s animals and to manage the veterinary team. The successful candidate should have at least three years of full-time zoo veterinary experience and have strong interpersonal and team-building skills. The head veterinarian will report to the Vice President of Mission & Programs but will also work closely with the Animal, EdVenture, and Conservation Departments. View full job description.

Administrative & Research Assistant

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is seeking an Administrative & Research Assistant for the Vice President of Mission & Programs, who oversees the veterinary, conservation, & education departments. The successful applicant should have strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, plus a medical background (ie medical data entry or prior experience working in a veterinary hospital). Community Programs Supervisor

This staff member develops, promotes, implements and manages: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Zoo Camp programs for kindergarten to 12th grade in addition to our early childhood programs, Zoo Explorations tours and Birthday Party program. This includes recruiting, hiring, training and managing seasonal and part-time staff to facilitate programs as needed. Promotes professional working relationships with both internal and external customers. This position is supervisory in nature. Education Program Mentor

Education Program Mentors (part-time) take a leading role in environmental education for toddlers through 12th graders in the Zoo’s overnights, birthday parties, early childhood programs, zoo tours, zoo camp and other programs. The goal of these programs is to instill and foster a lifelong love for nature and animals as well as introduce or develop lifelong passions for activities that tie youth directly to wildlife and/or wild places.
