The gift shop offers a large selection of Zoo-related apparel, plush animals and books, as well as fair trade and conservation gifts. There is also a wide variety of snacks and drinks.

Location: Just inside the Zoo front entrance
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. year-round (or current Zoo hours)

Picnic Areas

Outdoor seating can be found at various locations around the Zoo. The main picnic area is near the Carousel. Please view the Zoo Map for details. You are welcome to bring food, coolers, etc. with you, just please refrain from bringing in any glass or alcohol. Please do not feed any of your food to the Zoo animals. Outside food and drink may not be taken in to any of the Zoo restaurants.

European-style pizzeria serving hand-made pizzas, salads, local craft beer, wine and dessert. Gluten-free and vegan options available. Stop by the aptly named “Pizza with a View” to enjoy some delicious food and breathtaking scenery!
NOTE: Pizza with a View will be closed Monday, October 22 & Tuesday, October 23, 2018 for floor maintenance.

Location: Across from Grizzly Grill (just past the Carousel)

Elson’s Place

The space is named after Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s famous male lion, Elson. Elson was known for being a magnificent ambassador for his species and for his uncompromising personality. We remember how he touched the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to come in contact with him.

Location: African Rift Valley across from the Lions
Hours:
March – September: Daily, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
October – February: Daily, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (weather permitting)

Summer Menu: Refreshing selection of fruit smoothies, coffee frappés, milkshakes, homemade lemonade, ice cream, pretzels and more!

Grizzly Grill

Our exciting restaurant offers Zoo guests a unique dining experience while overlooking the city of Colorado Springs and surrounding region. With abundant indoor air-conditioned seating and beautiful sunlit patios, the Grizzly Grill is a great place to relax and take a break from your journey around America’s mountain Zoo.

Location: Near the middle of the Zoo, adjacent to the Carousel.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. year-round (or current Zoo hours)

Menu: Offers gourmet favorites that guests might not expect to see in a zoo setting, such as daily carving stations, pasta bowls, rice bowls, wraps, soups and fresh made-to-order salads. Regular zoo fare includes burgers, homemade New York-style pizza by the slice, sandwiches, and soft ice cream. Diners enjoy culinary theatre-style as you watch your food selections prepared fresh in front of you. Bring your appetites and enjoy!

Enjoy an alfresco patio café geared toward giving you a unique sit-down restaurant with the best views in the city. Chef-inspired house-smoked barbecue, salads and appetizers. Local craft beer and wine. Counter ordering with food and drinks delivered right to your table.

Location: Near the middle of the Zoo, diagonally across the sidewalk from the Grizzly Grill, overlooking the Rocky Mountain goats and all of Colorado Springs.

Summer June – Sept: Daily 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (drinks only until 5 p.m., last call 4:45 p.m.)
Winter October – May: Open Spring Break week and Saturdays & Sundays in May only, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (then drinks only until 5 p.m.)
Closed: October – May unless otherwise noted.

Menu: Discover a Chef inspired house-smoked Barbecue, salads and appetizers. Local craft beer and wine.

Summer Memorial Day – Labor Day: Daily, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Winter October – May: Open Saturdays & Sundays through October, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weather dependent)
Closed: November – February

Menu: Local hand-dipped ice cream, fried Oreos, other sweets and treats!


Dippin’ Dots – open seasonally in Rocky Mountain Wild.
 
Mountaineer Market – open seasonally at Mountaineer Summit, top of the Sky Ride.
