In 2026, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo turns 100! As part of celebrating our centennial, we want to share the unique stories that make Cheyenne Mountain Zoo your Zoo. We’re inviting guests, members and friends of the Zoo to share their Zoo history with us – through photos, written memories, or both. We can’t wait to hear how you’ve made the Zoo a part of your story!
Ages 18+: In honor of our centennial year, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo invites you to step back in time with our Historic Photo Re-Creation Contest! Re-create a favorite old photo at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for a chance to win exciting prizes. Submit your original photo & re-created version at the link below!
Ages 1-4 years. For this special Holiday edition Stroller Safari, we will be using the country’s flag colors to guide our learning! Some of these colors are easier to spot in nature than others, so come along on the journey to see what we can find! Registration is required.
Join us in our parking lot, or watch from your preferred viewing spot in the area. This special 200-drone show will take off from a higher point than our normal shows, making them visible from much farther away. The show will last about fifteen minutes from 9:15-9:30 p.m. Tickets or reservations are not required. The Zoo will be closed during the drone show. The Zoo parking lot is limited and will open at 7:15 p.m. for public viewing. Please follow staff directions for parking and viewing. The show is weather permitting and alcohol, pets, and personal fireworks are not permitted.

Ages 7-11. These day camp opportunities are specially designed for campers with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders, developmental disabilities/delays or medical fragility. Hop, climb, and dive your way through fascinating animal habitats! Dance, slither, and roll into animal facts as we investigate the animal kingdom through movement. Registration is required.
Ages: Middle School & High School. Birding is a great way to connect with nature and learn about the native wildlife in your very own backyard. This program will teach learners the basics of birding, from proper binocular use to identifying different species. We’ll spend time at the zoo to learn beginner techniques and then take our newly learned skills into the field at Fountain Creek Nature Center. *Transportation to Fountain Creek Nature Center will be provided by Cheyenne Mountain Zoo* Includes daytime admission. Ages 12-18. CMZoo’s Youth Leadership Action Board invites you to the 8th Annual Youth Conservation Leadership Conference (YCLC), right here on the mountainside. This conference is hosted by your teenage peers as a common ground conference to work towards worldwide conservation education efforts. Registration is required. This conference is sold out.

All ages. Join us in celebrating Western lowland gorilla baby Sully's 1st Birthday! Enjoy fun healthy activities and a photo booth sponsored by Children's Hospital, make a birthday card for Sully and learn all about gorillas. Advance tickets are required and limited, anytime rideshare tickets are always available.
How do we keep our animals active and healthy? We give them enrichment that can include activities that use natural behaviors, allow control over their environment and enhance their well-being. Enrich your evening by watching our animals enjoy themselves! Grizzly Grill and Pizza with a View will be open. Animal demonstrations and keeper talks will be happening throughout the evening. Primate World will be closed for the event. Check your email for more details. Advanced timed tickets are required for daytime admission for Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent, and Family Plus level members. (Anytime Rideshare tickets are always available.) Ticket reservations are not required for this event (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

For these special dates, you can bring your well-behaved dog to the Zoo with you! Simply purchase a dog ticket along with your family’s human tickets, and Fido can experience many of the sights, sounds and smells that make the Zoo so special. Dog tickets are limited. Advance tickets are required.

Tickets to Tails, Tunes & Tastes include unlimited small plates and two drink tickets. Cash bars also available. (No one under age 21 will be permitted, including no children or infants.) In this beginner’s workshop we’ll go over some basic photography skills and techniques, and then put them to the test with the best models around – our beautiful mountainside and resident animals! *Learners are welcome to bring any device to capture photos with (camera, phone, ipad, etc.).
