Electric Safari

Friday, December 15 @ 5:30 pm - Saturday, December 23 @ 8:30 pm

Lights, Animals and Holiday Spirit! Celebrate holiday cheer during Electric Safari with 85 light sculptures on over 50 acres! Warming fires throughout the Zoo offer a reprieve from the chill, as do select indoor animal exhibits that remain open during the event. Top off this astounding display by gazing out at the city’s lights and watch all of Colorado Springs sparkle.

Winter Break Day Camps

Monday, December 18 @ 9:00 am - Friday, December 22 @ 4:00 pm

Ages Pre-K – 6th grade. This is the first week of the Zoo’s winter break day camps designed for flexibility and fun! Day camps are offered two different December weeks. Programs include one for each age group; Snow Safari, Winter Warriors, Winter Around the World, and Creature Comforts. Pre-K-K times 9 a.m. – noon. 1st – 6th grade times 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Campers should sign up for the grade they are currently enrolled in. Online registration is OPEN.

Small Mammal Care 101

Adults & children ages 7+. In this class you will learn what it takes to be a small mammal pet owner. During class you will meet and help care for our real, live animal ambassadors! Interactive activities will guide learning in topics including; healthy diet preparation, proper housing, enrichment, and training. Online registration is open.

Kids Only Overnight WildNight

Kids ages 5+. Have you ever seen or heard the Zoo at night? You no longer need to guess, come see what it’s like to spend the night among the creatures at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We’ll walk through the Zoo at night and discover what the animals do when the Zoo is closed. This program is for kids only, dinner and breakfast are served.​

Kids Only Valentines WildNight

Kids ages 5+. Let us do all the work, all you have to do is drop the kiddos off! We will have a pizza party, roast s’mores, go for an evening tour, and even meet an animal up close! We’ll make an animal themed valentines craft to take home! We will even throw in a continental breakfast and a morning tour to will complete your Valentines overnight.

Run to the Shrine

All ages. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo invites world class runners and families alike to Run to the Shrine on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Run to the Shrine is a 4-mile run/walk course that curves through the Zoo, up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and back down into the Zoo. The run provides some of the most stunning views in the Pikes Peak region. The 4-mile race concludes with a party at Lodge at Moose Lake!
Please check back in January 2018 for the online registration link. Day-of registration will be at the Zoo from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday; only credit cards accepted for registration fee (no cash or checks).

Teddy Bear Day

Children ages 3 to 11 visiting the Zoo along with a teddy bear, their favorite stuffed animal or doll, will receive discounted admission of $9.75 (saving $10!). (Kids 2 and under are just 75¢, and Zoo members are always free.) Kids can stop by the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Lodge at Moose Lake for a free stuffed animal “check-up” and meet medical personnel in a “beary” fun environment. Check out the special animal shows and happenings and come have a BEARiffic day at the Zoo!
