Summer Camps – Single Day Camps

Teddy Bear Day

Saturday, August 18 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Children ages 3 to 11 visiting the Zoo along with a teddy bear, their favorite stuffed animal or doll, will receive discounted admission of $9.75 (saving $10!). (Kids 2 and under are just 75¢, and Zoo members are always free.) Kids can stop by the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Lodge at Moose Lake for a free stuffed animal “check-up” and meet medical personnel in a “beary” fun environment. Check out the special animal shows and happenings and come have a BEARiffic day at the Zoo!

AAZK’s Art on the Hoof

Join us for the 17th annual fundraiser of the American Assoc. of Zookeepers’ Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Chapter. A night with animal art and animal art lovers provides you with an opportunity to help zookeepers and their work all the while supporting local artists. International Vulture Awareness Day

All ages. Ever wonder how vultures can eat dead animals without getting sick? Or how big their wingspan can get? Or what about why they’re important for the ecosystem?

Discover all this and WAY more at our 10th annual celebration of International Vulture Awareness Day on Saturday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in African Rift Valley and Encounter Africa! There will be vulture-themed activities, opportunities to meet our Cape vultures up close and a special vulture feeding and keeper talk at 1:30 p.m.! There will be TWO scavenger hunts taking place, which will take you around the Zoo to find the answers to each clue. Make sure you visit the biofacts station at the entrance to African Rift Valley to get your scavenger hunt sheets! You will also learn ways that we can protect vultures in the wild, including donating to vulture conservation through #CMZoo’s Quarters for Conservation program. Come celebrate vultures with Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and other conservation organizations all over the world on this special day!

Day-of Schedule:
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Vulture-themed activities and stations in African Rift Valley and Encounter Africa
10 a.m.- Wings of Africa bird show
12 p.m. – First vulture meet and greet drawing
12:15 p.m.- Vulture meet and greet for the morning scavenger hunt winner
1:30 p.m.- Vulture feeding and keeper talk
2 p.m. – Second vulture meet and greet drawing

Kids Only Trunks, Tales and Tails Overnight WildNight

Friday, September 7 @ 6:00 pm - Saturday, September 8 @ 6:00 pm

Kids ages 5+. Come learn about our African animals, more specifically we’ll focus on our elephant herd and see our two new elephants that brings our herd to 6 happy girls. We’ll see gorillas, a rhino, giraffe and more at night and we will even get to meet an African animal in the Loft up close! Learn more and register now!

Run to the Shrine

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo invites all ages of world class runners and families alike to Run to the Shrine on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Run to the Shrine is a 4-mile run/walk course that curves through the Zoo, up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and back down into the Zoo. The run provides some of the most stunning views in the Pikes Peak region. The 4-mile race concludes with a party at Lodge at Moose Lake!
