First Adventures with Nature

Bring your 18-35 month old to the Zoo with their favorite adult for their First Adventures with Nature (F.A.W.N.).  It is never too early to introduce your toddler to the wonders of the natural world around them. Classes will explore a variety of topics through age appropriate activities, special crafts and hands on animal encounters.


60 minutes as listed


$18.75 members / $25.75 non-members per class.
(Program fee admits one adult and one toddler for each class.)

Does your toddler have siblings? No worries.

  • Siblings up to 6 years of age are allowed to attend the program for an extra fee of $14.75 ( or $7.75 for members). Please note that participation in the class is limited to children 18-35 months.
  • Siblings within the program’s age range of 18-35 months can participate in the program for the normal program fee (see above for prices).
  • Infants are permitted to accompany the adult. An infant is defined as (0-12 months).

Would you like to bring an additional adult to the class? We have you covered!

  • Extra adults may attend the program for an extra fee of $19.75 (or $10.75 for members).

Space is limited; therefore pre-registration is required.

Outstanding Otters

Did you know that one of our otters’ favorite past times in the winter is sledding on their bellies into their heated pool? Otters have so much fun in the snow! Grab your jackets, scarfs, and mittens, and join our class as we explore what it means to be an otter!

Legendary Lions

Can you roar like a lion? Join our FAWN class as we discover what it means to be a lion! We will be sure to visit our very own lion pride here at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
