Can I get a refund on my membership?

No. All membership purchases are final and cannot be refunded or partially refunded after purchase. We do offer the ability to transfer your membership to another family or individual, or upgrade to a higher level, but cannot downgrade, refund, or extend membership expiration dates for any reason.

Do I need ticket reservations to visit the Zoo as a member?

We require advance tickets for members and guests of Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent and Family Plus membership levels. If you arrive without a reserved ticket, we cannot guarantee tickets will be available. If we are sold out of tickets at that time, we will not be able to accommodate your entry.

Can I apply my tickets toward a Zoo membership?

Yes – Daily admission tickets (does not include special or nighttime events) may be applied toward a membership within 14 days. You must contact membership before purchasing your membership to apply tickets to your upgrade. Depending on the membership, please note not all tickets may be applied. Only one receipt can be applied per membership and your tickets cannot be applied toward gift memberships for other families. Sky Ride tickets may not be used toward a Sky Ride Day Pass. Daily Admission tickets cannot be applied to the Third Adult add-on. Call Membership 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893 with your ticket receipt’s order number to upgrade.

*Note: An order number from the original ticket is required for an upgrade. This number can be found on your admissions receipt.

What is the best way to purchase / renew a membership?

You can purchase your membership online at any time. To renew online, sign into your Zoo account here. Bring the confirmation email and a valid photo ID upon your first visit to the Zoo.

Memberships may also be purchased at the Zoo between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Memberships cannot be started or renewed during special or nighttime events, like Electric Safari or Boo at the Zoo. Please note, it can take up to 14 days to receive your membership card, but don’t wait for us! Visit the Zoo anytime after purchase by checking-in with a photo I.D.

Can I use my Cheyenne Mountain Zoo membership at other zoos?

It depends on policy of the individual zoo or aquarium you plan to visit. We recommend reaching out directly to their admissions or membership program to ask about their reciprocal membership discount program as it pertains to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Can I use my membership from another AZA-accredited zoo or aquarium for free or discounted entry to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo?

No. Because we are one of only a handful of AZA-accredited zoos that doesn’t receive any tax support, we rely more heavily on our admissions revenue than other tax-funded zoos and aquariums do. Because of this, we do not participate in reciprocal membership discount programs. You can find non-member admission tickets here.

How long is my membership valid?

Your membership is valid until the last day of the month you purchased it, one year from purchase. When renewing early, you will keep the same expiration date as before.

Membership cards take between 10-14 days, but you don’t need the membership card to visit the Zoo. While waiting for your card, simply check in with a picture ID at the front gate. Please allow approximately two weeks to receive your membership card. If you renewed your membership and your information remained the same, we ask that you continue to use your current membership card.

How do replace a lost membership card or get a second membership card?

We are happy to reprint a Membership card for a $5 fee. Send us a check with instructions, including your full name and any special requests. You can also request reprints at the front gate between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., every day, or call 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893 to pay with a credit card over the phone. If you have lost your membership card, don’t worry! You can still visit the Zoo, simply bring a valid photo ID to check in at the front gate.

Why is there no expiration date on my membership card?

To “Go Green,” we do not we do not print expiration dates on membership cards so they can be used year after year. If you would like to know the expiration date of your membership, please call the membership office at 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893 or email us at [email protected].

I joined at one level, but now my circumstances have changed. What can I do?

Your upgraded membership will keep the original expiration date. You cannot downgrade a membership while it is active, but upon renewal you are welcome to change your membership level if necessary.
